International Times was founded by Ana Celerier Salcedo (class of 22'). Formerly known as "Alto Times" the idea to begin a student-led newspaper at our school (Silicon Valley International School) began during 2019. Freshman at the time Ana spent her entire summer designing a website, coordinating out logistics and writing articles. Our first edition was published on October 9th 2019 and was advertised in the school bulletin and social media platforms in the following days. The International Times went independent from the school for a briefly time from September 2021- November 2021 and rejoined with the school. In 2022 the editorial role was passed on to another student. We now have an entire editorial team working on making our high-school newspaper better.
